Latch Little Baby
Aracelis Pisano, IBCLC -Lactation Consultant
My Own Personal Journey
Within the first 24 hours of my first son’s birth in 2014, I was told I would never be able to breastfeed. I was heartbroken and discouraged leaving the hospital with the idea that I would not be able to provide my son with what I truly felt was the perfect start to his life. A few days later, we visited an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) who changed our lives forever. Within moments, my son was latched and transferring milk efficiently. We went on to have a beautiful nursing journey which gave me the confidence to nurse my second son, who was tongue and lip tied.
I realized I wanted to help other parents who were struggling at this very delicate time in their lives, just like I did. I obtained my certification as a Certified Lactation Counselor in 2016. Immediately after that, I joined La Leche League and became accredited as a Leader. Helping parents at these meetings validated that my passion for breastfeeding was not just a passing moment. It was during this time that I decided to go back to school to complete the prerequisites needed to sit for the IBCLC exam. In 2019, I became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
About Me
My training and personal experience allow me to work with nursing families to provide clinical expertise and empathetic counseling at any point in their breastfeeding journey. I currently work with families from all over the country through virtual meetings, newborn and NICU care at a local hospital and serve local families through in person care.
